My long absence

I have been neglecting this site for some time now, and would like to make a note to frequent it once more with something resembling a schedule. Thanks to a particular anonymous benefactor, I now am in possession of a new computer and some new programs. In the new line up is Daz Studios, Bryce, Z-Brush, Maya, and Visual Studio 2010.
Now I promised that when this machine got here I would give the Newest version of blender a good test run. I have tried it out and could not get a handle on it. So I have returned to Blender 2.49, and will continue to use it until the day that I must change over.
New software can be rather frightening, especially when it is both needed and desired. Needed to ultimately accomplish my long term goals and Desired for the challenge they present. When faced with a single challenge, most people rise to the occasion particularly when any amount of drive is present. When faced with several at once however, it is easier to shrink away. This was of course my first inclination, until I rationalized it all. I have now decided that as I start to tackle each one separately I will open a new folder in the Forums for discussions and as a personal resource for my self.
The first one on the agenda is Visual Studio 2010 and C++.. Now I am one of those people that have a difficult time reading web documents, pdf's, and the like. If possible I will find a video tutorial on the topic at hand. Many of you might say "RTFM!," yes I know and I will get around to that at some point. I will eventually obtain a hard copy of the manual, and will poor over it.
To recap, there are a few new programs that I have to play with on my new computer passed on by a very generous benefactor. The first to be poked is a compiler and the C++, progress is slow but that is the beginning of learning anything new. I am still working in Blender 2.49 and working on my Characters. I also retained a copy of Sculptris, Terragen, and will be posting new images in the gallery.
Until next time every one, it's back to work.
